He had belonged to dramatic company (Reishinkai) in 1982, and performed in the street for three years. He will appear on many movies and dramas after a drama debut in 1986 " Konoko darenoko?" After that, he plays an active part also in variety and CM. He would win sudden fame for an actor who plays romantic parts. In addition to his actives, he also spend considerable time as a writer. From 1995, he sold "Dreaming Christmas" which is a single CD, so he started to music activity.
In 1998, He got married with Takaoka Saki who is an actress. They got acquainted with each other taking advantage of playing together of a drama. He likes to eat dish and to cooking, so he sometimes put up a lunch for her when she is busy with her work. He has two sons, Kotaro who is three year old, and second son, Ryuto who is one years old. He is bringing them in his own way. In 2001, he got a prize of "Best Father of the year".
