Ryouko is very popular among Japanese people.

It was when she was junior high school student that she made her debut in the world of show business. She was selected the grand prix "Clearasil PIKA PIKA face contest. After that, she began to appear on TV commercials, for example, NTT Docomo's pocket bell, HONDA Live Dio, Asahi Mitsuya Soda", and "Sakura Bank".

Then she began to appear on TV dramas. The first one was "Heart ni S." Later she appeared in "Long Vacation," "Beach Boys," and "Saint March." Then in 1997, she appeared on movie, "20th Nostalgia" as the leading actress.

Recently, she has sung a few songs. That were created by very famous singers. For example, "Maji de Koi Suru 5 Byou Mae" by Mariya Takeuchi, "Daisuki" by Mayo Okamoto, "Kaze no Prism" by Yuuko Hara, and "Summer Sunset" by Koumi Hirose. She also has a radio program at Tokyo FM at Wednesday from 11:25 to 11:55 pm.

In 1997 she had a very busy schedule. She got "Golden Arrow Graph Award" and got the "Most Valuable New Star Award" in the Japan Academy Awards. Then she threw the first ball in the All-Star Game at 21th July at Jinnguu stadium. And thanks to this popularityb she could appear on "Kouhaku Uta Gassen".

In July of 1998 she started to appear in a new TV drama called "Sekaide Ichibann PaPa Ga Suki." She has also published two photograph albums, "R & H" and "No make".

In high school, her special ability was the running high jump. She got the second place at Kouchi Prefecture Tournament. Her personal best is 153cm.
