CHAGE & ASKA debuted in 1979. Their debut song is "Hitorizaki". At first, their songs were like "Enka" songs. But they changed their song style at the end of the 80s.
Their single "Morning Moon" sold very well. Then their songs were used for TV drama's theme song and CM song for example, "no no darlin'", "SAY YES", "YAH YAH YAH", "Meguriai" and "You are free". Especially, "SAY YES" and "YAH YAH YAH" were sold more than two million CDs. Both songs were Fuji TV drama's theme songs. "SAY YES" was for "101 Kaime no Propose", "YAH YAH YAH" was for "Furikaereba Yatu ga Iru". Both dramas were seen by many people.
They often held concerts tour in Japan. At their concert, they produce a short movie. When they produced the movie titled "If they become older", CHAGE was very shocked because he knew how long forever is. He told it in his book.
They also held concerts in Taiwan and Hong Kong. They are popular in these country. In 1996, they appeared at MTV Unplugged Live. It was wonderful that they were the first musicians in Asia. And some worldwide musicians covered C&A's songs. It is the album "One Voice". It was sold not only in Japan, but also in Europe and America.
They also work as solo. ASKA has some hit songs. For example, "Hajimari ha Itumo Ame", "Seiten wo Homerunara Yuugure wo Mate", "ID" and"Girl". And he held his own concert tour last year and this year. He said, "My solo work will end. Next year I'll return to C&A works".
CHAGE made other unit called "MULTI MAX" with Hiromi Asai and Keisuke Murakami. They released some albums and singles. And he became radio DJ, wrote his essay "Tsuki ga Iiwake wo Siteru".
When either of them started solo work, someone always said, "They will separate". They denied the bad rumor every time. As a C&A's fan, I want them to continue C&A.
