Akita Yutaka is a soccer player of the Kashima Antlers. He was a member of the Japanese National Team in 1998 when the World Cup was held in France.

He is a defender, and his position is center back. His defence is very aggressive. He is good at high balls, so he often clears the ball and gets a goal.

He began to play soccer when he was in the second grade of elementary school. In his high school days, he decided to become a professional soccer player. He joined the Kashima Antlers in his last year of university. He debuted in the J League in 1993, and he debuted on the National Team in 1995. He has competed in more than 230 J League games up to now. He has played 38 games and got 3 goals for the National Team.

He was chosen for the Best Eleven in 1997 and 1998. Now, he is a veteran player for the Kashima Antlers. His number is 3. The front of Antlers' goal is covered by him!!

He has a wife and two children. He met his wife when he was in the second year of high school. Their motto is "Be kind, bright and cheerfull". His favorite phrase is "Continuation will bring power".
