At first
Do you have experiences that the machine don't work suddenly however you press any keys? This condition is called "Hang Up" or "Freeze". It is cause by something wrong occurred inside machines, and if the machine hanguped, you can't control the machine from a keyboard or a mouse or other input device.
In this page, I will introduce what you should do, when your Macintosh break down. If you don't know how to operate the Macintosh computer, please read this document carefully. Don't turn off the power switch on main body. It cause a dreadful dead of Macintosh.
The first thing you must do when the machine hangup.
You have to check if your machine really hangup or not. To make sure, you can type any keys you like, and move the mouse cursor to make sure the condition.
Next Option
If the computer doesn't response when you push any keys, or you can't move your mouse pointer anywhere, it is the DEATH of the soft. And you have to operate to quit the Nisus Writer program compalsorily. This operation is effective for other softs, for example NetScape etc. The operation is following;
You can push push following keys at the same time.
Apple Key + Control Key + Option Key + Escape Key
You can sometimes quit the program compulsorily with this operation. If you succeed to recover the program, please shut down with formal method.
If you can't quit the program compulsorily (and this case happen very often), unfortunately you can only to quit the system itself. This operation is following;
You can quit the system of Macintosh compulsorily by pressing following keys at the same time.
Apple Key + Controle Key + Power Bottun
You can practice the quitting the system. If you do this operation, your Macintosh will restart automatically and you will able to use confortablly again.
A further option
In case you can't restart, regrectably you have to restart the system itself. This operation is,
Apple key + Control key + Power Switch
Pushing them all together, you can carry it out. Thsi poeration restar the machine automatically and you are able to use it again.
The final option
The final option which shouldn't used untill the very last moment is to off the Power button. But be sure to try all the other options. Leave 30 seconds and on the Power button.
If you are lucky enough to restart, but in case you can't, call tecnical support and tell them taht you had a crash. You should tell them taht you have already tried all these options written above.
