Birth of Maruchan mark In 1953, Toyou-suisan started the company of business related to fishery. Toyou-suisan also was using a corporate mark and brand mark called "Maruto" that is initial of the company. But about from 1960, Toyou-suisan developed process foods Including instant noodle in a full scale and Maruchan mark was developed as the brand mark which is easy to remember and is familiar of customers in wide layers. From Maruto to Maruto-chan, from Marutochan to Maru-chan and the present design, HAPPY SMILE, was born then.
