Yujin Kitagawa, the leader of Yuzu was born on January 14, 1977. Koji Iwasawa, the sub-leader of Yuzu was born on October 14, 1976. Both of them were born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa. They were classmates in junior and high school.

They played the guitar and sang a lot of songs in Isezaki-cho shopping center in Yokohama City. They respected Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi, and they wanted to be a singer-song writer like him. However , they realized it was impossible, so they started to their own songs with their own words. One day, a man, now president of the company (SEHNA & Co.) which they belong to, was moved by their songs. They were scouted by him as "Yuzu".

In 1997 they released their first album "Yuzu No Moto". The sales of the album were unusual as they were minor group. The more chances they got to appear on TV programs, the more people came to their concerts on the street. In June 1998, their first single "Natsuiro" was released. About this time I came to know them. Next, they released their second album "Yuzuikka". It's my favorite album. There are many good songs in it.

In some of their concerts I have seen them wear sports wear, the same as which they used in their junior high school. I thought it's funny. They call their fans as "Yuzukko". I felt their friendship in it. Once I have watched their concert on a TV program. Their MC was very friendly and funny, and they seemed to be very happy. Of course their songs were wonderful.

Since they released their second album, their popularity hasn't declined. They released four singles and a video of their concerts. Moreover, their name came to be known to people of various generations. They play many wonderful songs in their concerts in most cities which include Kyoto. Someday, I want to see their concert.
