Tarako has peculiar funny voice. She is actively engaged as an actress who speaks the dialogue in dubbing anime. Her voice is familiar as that of "Chibi Maruko chan" which is very popular in Japan.
Tarako played Mami in "Mezon-ikkoku" and Sugar in "Uruseiyatsura". After that, she has been playing the leading role in "Chibi Maruko chan" since 1989.
Tarako is a singer-song writer, too. In 1983, she made her debut, and then she released 5 CD albums. She holds regular concerts at a "live house" in Shibuya, Tokyo, every year.
