Obuchi Keizo is the present Prime Minister of Japan.
He was born on June 25, 1937 in Gunma prefecture as a son of a politician. He got the degree of Bachelor of Arts at Waseda University. After that, he started to study about politics for his M.A. at the same university. While he was doing his masters degree, he was elected a member of the House of Representatives from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in 1963 at the age of 26. As his father was a politician, he just followed the trail of his father. Since then he was re-elected 12 times and he has held a lot of official positions (see "Obuchi's History as Politician).
Finally he got a post of the 38th Prime Minister on July 30, 1998.
