From the Editors

Greetings,

Happy New Year!

We are pleased to announce the publication of issue 10.3 of TESL-EJ. This issue addresses some interesting questions in intercultural communication. The first article, by Keranen and Bayyurt, describes collaborative work done between teachers in Mexico and Turkey. The second, by Xiao, investigates the cultural interactions between Irish English teachers and their Chinese students in Ireland. In the same spirit, the Forum in this issue presents information from instructors of younger students from Iran, the U.S.A., Spain, and Slovenia.

On to business. . .

As always, there are a lot of changes underway here. First we welcome a new Editorial Board member, Keith Folse. Keith, of course, is well known for his textbooks and his work in the area of vocabulary acquisition. Additionally, we welcome many new Board of Reviewer members, too many to name here. We thank them for their contributions to the journal. Please look at our Editorial Board page to see the scores of people who contribute to this publication. And, of course, please let us know if you would like to become one of them.

There are two important changes to the way TESL-EJ operates.

First, Editorial Board Member Greta Gorsuch of Texas Tech University has stepped in as our new Submissions Editor. We hope the addition of this position will smooth out our communication processes and speed up review time. If you have work to submit for review, please see our Submissions link on the TESL-EJ site. We welcome Greta, and thank her for her continued hard work in support of the journal.

Second, we will no longer add new issues to the http://writing.berkeley.edu/TESL-EJ/ site. Our main site is now http://tesl-ej.org. Our Kyoto, Japan site, http://www.kyoto-su.ac.jp/information/tesl-ej/ will remain in operation and be updated as well. Previous issues will remain at the Berkeley site so links to them will still work.

Finally, we'd like to announce our next special issue, which is slated for September 2007. We are looking forward to a lot of interesting and insightful articles.
